I haven't shot in far too long...

I've been bad and haven't blogged in quite some time, I also hadn't done much shooting in a while. So I rented studio lighting from RMSP and drove down to Bozeman for the weekend. Shot all of Saturday and most of Sunday. Over all very satisfied with the shots I got, I've believing more and more that I'll need to invest in studio lights, or at least one soft box, light, and battery pack. Here is a shot I've been inspired to reproduce and finally took it as a final shot before packing everything up.

I love being in the studio!

I've been learning so much lately, especially when it comes to studio lighting. There is so much to consider, so many lighting options. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the affect that I am going for. I tend to just shoot with different options and see if I like the results. Here are two photos from our shoot this morning. I really like how they came out. Sorry I haven't posted in so long, I'm not that great at blogging. Until later...

My New Adventure

This last week in Missoula has been amazing! Everyone is so nice here. My roommates and I really get along, and everyone at RMSP is so kind and welcoming. This experience is exactly what I needed for myself. I still have some unpacking to do, but that's a slow steady process. Classes are going well, the days are long but everyone still manages to hold a sense of happiness. It's a completely different experience then the program at MSU. Everyone is genuinely warmhearted and helpful from the inside out. There is no sense of competition here, everyone is here for the same purpose and that is to learn more about what we all love to do, photography. There is range of different styles and personalities. 81 people embarked on a journey from around the country for the same purpose, 54 women, 27 men, ages 17-64 all willing leave everything they have behind to peruse their dreams in photography. I love and miss you all, but this experience is sure to be nothing less than amazing. I hope you will all follow my journey through RMSP and living in Missoula. I'll keep you posted, but until then I must finish my homework for tomorrow. Much love Darc*
